2017 Subaru Outback Rumors

The 2017 Subaru Outback has received some updates for this year. The Outback is essentially a Legacy with a bigger rear end, and as the Legacy has already received an update, they are doing the same for the Outback and transferring most of the same updates to this car as well. The models look similar as the Outback has received some reworking on the outside and the Legacy has concentrated on making the interior a better place. Of course the Outback does not feature the coupe like styling due to its wagon exterior which is an expected choice.

The plastic cladding and the body-protective features that you would normally see in an Outback are still kept here and are going to be used this time as well and can be a good choice for when you decide to take the car for a ride out back.

The similarities between the Subaru Outback and the Subaru Legacy continue under the hood. The same type of an engine setup is going to be seen inside this car and it will do it a lot of good for the Outback to get this kind of an upgrade. Added is the CVT transmission and they do not plan to offer us a manual transmission choice any time soon. The prices and the release date for the latest Subaru Outback has been confirmed and you can read all about it in this review along with other specs and news about the car.

2017 Subaru Outback Exterior

The exterior design of the latest 2017 Subaru Outback is going to combine the classic wagon shape and a modern crossover design together into one. The car is still going to have a high ground clearance and a tall greenhouse which is going to give it a more of an SUV-like look. It is going to borrow certain elements from the Legacy but they are not going to become too dominant for the Outback. The front end is graced with a six-sided grille and also the large fascia part make the car look much larger than it actually is and the same goes for the side profile of the car which is pretty much owed to the plastic cladding the vehicle has.

The Outback Touring trim is going to features some added features and small changes for its 2017 version. This means a dark grey grille with matching gray wheels also finished with  bright, machined faces. The car is going to have low-profile roof rails making the visual height of the car that much larger. The range topping level of the car is going to be enhanced thanks to the chrome bits and pieces that are added as well which you can see on the door bottoms, roof rails and the front bumper.

Interior Changes 2017 Subaru Outback

The interior of the 2017 Subaru Outback is mainly borrowed from the interior of the Legacy model, but this is actually not at all a bad thing as the Legacy sports a very good and handsome looking inside. There are going to be optional wood and metal trims available as well as a possibility of adding navigation for your use and also leather seats as well.

The Touring trim is actually the only version which is available with the newly added color, called Java Brown and you can add it to the  perforated leather seats, armrests or door panels. The ivory stitching is a perfect way to contrast the color and teh dark look while it also comes with woodgrain accents and a piano-black trim for the switch panels. A standard feature is a headed steering wheel.

The seating setup is going to be the same for the 2017 version and it will still be able to seat five people and offer ample space for all of them using two rows of seats. The second row has a folds 60/40 style which actually allows more cargo room in the rear. The Outback has a very competitive cargo bay with enough room to compete even with some of the midsize models.

The first choice is a  2.5-liter flat four-cylinder engine that has 175 horsepower at 5,800 rpm and 174 pound-feet of torque at 4,000 rpm at disposal.

The second engine is offered for the 3.6R Limited trim and is the 3.6-liter flat six-cylinder that makes 256 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 247 pound-feet of torque at 4,400 rpm. The CVT the only transmission available as there is no manual version this time as well but the car does use a Symmetrical AWD system as standard.

2017 Subaru Legacy Release Date

The new 2017 Subaru Legacy is a solid pick for anyone looking for a standard AWD drive, top crash test scores, lots of standard safety features, and an excellent exterior visibility. Its release date should be expected sometime in the second quarter of 2017.

The new 2017 Subaru Legacy comes basic with an AWD, which is a potentially and unusual likable trait for a contemporary family sedan. We are particularly impressed by the quality of the interior fittings, but compared to its more mainstream competitors, the Legacy’s dashboard design is a little stark.

The simple and straightforward interior design of the new model is highlighted by Subaru’s no-nonsense approach to car design. Common touch points such as the center console and armrests have been offered with soft-touch materials, whereas the touchscreen navigation system offered as an option comes with easy-to-use crisp graphics thanks to the large icons and smartphone-like operability.

2017 Subaru Legacy spy shots

The front seats are comfortable and are offered with plenty of front headroom. Further aback, the 15-cubic-foot trunk trails the competition while the head- and legroom are slightly less than those offered by Ford Fusion and Honda Accord. Even so, the Legacy is nevertheless roomy for a small family sedan.

Things remain same as before under the 2017 Subaru Legacy hood. It however comes a bit short in the way it drives. It’s less cushy and a bit slower than its competition. Both the six- and four-cylinder engine are smooth and quiet, but the acceleration is mediocre. On the upside, though, the standard all-wheel drive gives it a good resume especially when the prevailing conditions are mundane.

Around turns, the newest Subaru Legacy is easy to drive and precise, but an abundance of lean or body roll inhibits the car from feeling truly sporty.

Many quirks inhibit the 2017 Subaru Legacy appeal nevertheless. Some of them include a lackluster acceleration, and a stiffer ride relative to its competition. Owners love Subarus, and we, in particular, love the Legacy. The brand loyalty is almost mind-boggling, but this is a strongly competitive segment loaded with very compelling and appealing options.

In terms of driver enjoyment, technology, and styling, these rivals are your best bet; the 2017 Toyota Camry, the 2017 Mazda 6, the 2017 Ford Fusion, 2017 Nissan Altima, and 2017 Honda Accord.

2017 Subaru Legacy Engine Specs

Inspiration for the 2017 Subaru Legacy is derived from a four-cylinder 2.5L and a 3.6L V6 engines. The base engine pairs to a CVT with steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters which transmits the power generated – 175 hp and 174 lbs. ft. of torque to the AWD system.

The V6, on the other hand, generates 256 horsepower and 247 pounds-ft. of torque and is offered with the same transmission as the base engine. All mills are offered with a standard AWD system.

Zipping from 0-60 miles with the Legacy 2.5i Premium needs 9.4 seconds. This is a dreary acceleration relative to what the competition offers, as many of its direct rivals achieve the same sprint in under 8.0 seconds.

2017 Subaru Crosstrek

If you’re looking for a versatility in a small package, the new 2017 Subaru Crosstrek is worth a look. It offers stellar safety ratings, good fuel economy, a standard all-wheel drive system, generous standard features, and a strong off-road capability. Its release date should be expected sometime in the first half of next year, at least according to recent news.

Subarus have been with us for decades now, they are versatile vehicles that have shown their usefulness especially in mundane environments by offering a standard all-wheel drive system when no one else was. And for 2017, Subaru continues with its legacy by offering the Crosstrek version that is fundamentally a car, an Impreza hatchback, to be specific, with spruced up exterior and interior designs, tougher looking style, and a beefed up suspension system.

2017 Subaru Crosstrek side

It follows a template similar to its Impreza counterpart, with a simple and easy to navigate interior. Seasoned Subaru users will immediately notice the Crosstrek’s cabin materials are nicer than Subaru’s historical norm. The door and dashboard panels are wrapped in soft-touch trim. Enhanced multimedia technologies are offered for the new model including the upgraded 7.0” touchscreen display. And, from a technological point of view, the Crosstrek is perhaps one of the few vehicles in its segment that offers a better-equipped cabin.

The new model is also practical for both passengers and drivers alike. In terms of space, even 6-footers will appreciate the comfortable leg- and headroom offered. Further aback, there is a lot of space for stowage purposes and according to Subaru, the cargo volume stands at about 51.9 cubic ft. when the seatbacks are lowered, and 22.3 cubic ft. in a conventional setup. That’s a healthy margin relative to what the competition offers, but if you’re looking for more, the Subaru Forester and Ford Escape are probably better alternatives.

2017 Subaru Crosstrek front side

As enticing as the Crosstrek may seem, there is no hiding the fact that several foibles exist. These problems include a largely underwhelming 2.0L four-cylinder engine and the problem is further propagated by the then CVT’s hair-trigger propensity and triggers that keep the mill whirring loudly during acceleration. Other cons include a pricey hybrid model, poor fuel economy ratings relative to its competition, and a substandard audio system.

Even in an unforgiving segment such as this one, where the competition keeps sprouting every other day, the new 2017 Subaru Crosstrek is an inexpensive crossover/hatchback that can easily get you off the beaten path. Some of its bogeys include the versatile Honda HR-V, the Toyota RAV4, the sporty Mazda CX-3, and the easy-to-maneuver Jeep Renegade.

Subaru Crosstrek – Available Trims

A whopping five trims – Hybrid Touring, Touring, 2.0i Limited, 2.0i Premium, and 2.0i – are offered for the five-passenger 2017 Subaru Crosstrek.

Exterior Changes & 2017 Subaru Crosstrek Interior Redesigns

Standard equipment and features offered for the base Crosstrek 2.0i trim model includes a 6.2” touchscreen interface, foglights, 17” alloy wheels, a telescopic-and-tilt steering wheel, Bluetooth audio and phone connectivity, roof rails, a rear privacy glass, smartphone app integration, a USB port, a four-speaker sound system, a rearview camera, rear folding 60/40-split seatbacks, cruise control, CD player, and automatic climate control.

Several packages specific to trim models are also offered, but we’ll have to wait for its release date in order to get everything right.

2017 Subaru Crosstrek Engine Specs

Inspiration for the 2017 Subaru Crosstrek if offered by the standard four-cylinder horizontally opposed “boxer” mill that churns out 145 pounds-ft. of torque and 148 hp. the Crosstrek Hybrid model, on the other hand, offers the same engine version but with some green credentials to enable it offer 160 hp and 163 pounds-ft. of torque.

The hybrid went from 0-60 mph in under 10.0 seconds, while the regular Crosstrek achieved the same in 9.9 seconds. That is a disappointing figure for a compact crossover, as virtually the rest of the vehicles in the segment offer better acceleration numbers. On the up side, though, the hybrid’s time is acceptable for a hybrid wagon in this price range.

2017 Subaru Crosstrek Release Date & Price

2016 Subaru BRZ Turbo

Showcased at the latest New York Auto show from this year we have seen the unveiling of the 2016 Subaru BRZ Turbo car. It showed us that the car can be made better than it actually is. As if the current model was not performing well, Subaru decided to upgrade it and bring some innovations and more power to the BRZ Turbo.

The new Subaru BRZ promises to be one of the most attractive ones on the market and is going to come with some incredible performance features and a completely new style. This is now a very good economical sport car and combines the look of a modern day coupe car and combines with a luxurious design that makes it look more aggressive than before and also act more superior than others as well.

Something completely new about the car is that it comes at a reduced weight. Making the car much lighter is something that enabled it to attain the given specs and performance ratings. If you want to find out more about the newest update that comes for the 2016 Subaru BRZ Turbo read the rest of the review.

2016 Subaru BRZ Turbo engine

The new BRZ Turbo car has incorporated an engine that is used inside the BRZ Super GT, They are calling it the GT300 EJ20 but it is basically a 2.0-liter turbocharged flat-4 boxer engine and it is able to generate 50 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque. The engine that has been given to the racer car and also that has been an inclusion to a concept vehicle that Subaru has also produced will find its home in the BRZ Turbo. This option is a manageable one and fits particularly well for this race-ready addition of the vehicle.

Interior

The inside has been made into a traditional sport version car. The 2016 Subaru BRZ Turbo gets some traditional accents that are given inside a typical racer. Besides sports safety and comfort the most noticeable thing are the carbon accents that are given to the inside of the car. The seats also add Recaro sport leather/suede upholsteries and come with red stitching to combine for a much better racer look. The whole cabin in fact includes some red details and are a bright spot which complement the entire concept of the cabin.

The dash has been remodeled to fit the update also. It uses a touch screen display which enables you to control the majority of the features added inside and also glows up whenever you turn on the car. This is a stylish new feature and makes a bright addition to the instrument cluster. The entire dash part has a conventional look and design that is seen in most of the racer vehicles of today.

2016 Subaru BRZ Turbo Exterior

The best part of the 2016 Subaru BRZ Turbo redesign is that everything has been done to be much more aggressive than before. Everything looks newer and fits perfectly with the already present sport design. If we were to compare it with something we can best describe it as being somewhere between the GT racer and the STI Performance concept model as it uses design cues from both of the cars. The front end of the car, or actually the front fascia, has some angular features and a shape that enables better air flow of the car. The hexagonal shape of the grille is a welcomed new addition and something that perfectly fits with the BRZ Turbo now.

2016 Subaru BRZ Turbo side back

Behind the front fender there are a couple of air gills added while the back fender has a huge back side that also sports a  mid-mounted, circular turbo exhaust. Finally we also get to the big angular wing looter placed behind the overhang. All of the new design cues will not worth anything if the car had not shed so much weight. The car has reduced its overall weight capacity by using lighter maters and the outer part of the car has more carbon fiber than before. This gives way to the present specs and better performance rates that the car has received.

2016 Subaru BRZ Turbo Price and release date

The great news about the release is that the 2016 Subaru BRZ Turbo is going to be available on the US market. We expect that the release date comes as near as March next year. But still not a lot of details are present here but next year is when the car is going to be certainly offered. Its price is also a welcomed one as this car adopts some affordable price stats. A base price of $34000 is good news for people who are interested in this version and fans of the Subaru.

2015 Subaru Forester

The 2015 Subaru Forester has come of age and has completely redefined itself by winning and achieving many accolades and praise for its personality considered by many as utilitarian in this last generation. This car is outstandingly practical in performance though lacking good looks, isn’t that fast and doesn’t have a sporty appearance. Nevertheless, there are a multitude of added features for the small crossover to brag about. Added features include a backup camera, multifunctional display and much more as we will look at below.

2015 Subaru Forester side

2015 Subaru Forester exterior

Considering the exterior of the 2015 Subaru Forester, things have predominantly remained the same. The 2015 body styles have been retained with the 1st one being the more sinister and angular looking one of the 2L turbo and the more rounded aggressive front fascia of the 2.5L. The Subaru designers have obviously retained them maybe due to the fact that they know from customer reviews ‘who buys what’. Subaru customers will be spoilt for choice of the wheels which come in three options to choose from; one measures 17-inch while the other two are 18-inch dark grey wheels.

2015 Subaru Forester interior

Much as the exterior, the internal features of the 2015 Subaru Forester remain predominantly the same. The major differences are on the centre stack and the 4.3 inch multifunctional screen which is controlled by the steering wheel mounted buttons. With white on black colour theme, the speedometer and tach are clearer to read. On the dashboard is a standard radio head depending on the trim level for your infotainment needs. A six speaker sound system comes incorporated in the voice control navigation or better yet you could have the eight speaker Harmon Kardon system as an option. In case you are short of cargo space then you could fold the 60/40 rear seats down to create an enormous 74.7 extra cubic feet of space. Depending on the trim levels, you could get cloth and leather seats.

Engine

When we take a closer look at the 2015 Subaru Forester engine then a lot needs to be said including two horizontally opposed four cylinders. A naturally aspirated standard flat four mill comes as a 2.5L which is capable of choking out 170 HP and 174lb-ft of torque. Transmission is in terms of two options; CVT or the much hype 6 speed manual. The fun 6-speed unfortunately is only available with 2.5i and 2.5i premium trims. For the premium option the engine is a turbocharged 2L flat four capable of making 250HP and 258lb-ft of torque.

Fuel efficiency

The ratings of the Forester are as follows; for the 2.5L is a rating of 24 miles per gallon on the city, 27 mpg as combined and 32 miles per gallon for the highway. The other 2L turbo gets 23miles per gallon on the city, 25mpg combined and finally 28 miles per gallon on the highway.

While choosing a CVT on either the 2.5i or 2.5i premium will cost up to $1000. A lot of options are available which will depend on whether you are willing to spend extra bucks.
