2017 Nissan Frontier

Although the new 2017 Nissan Frontier trails behind the recently redesigned General Motors and Toyota trucks in most respects, the vehicle compensates these with its brawny V6 engine, fun-to-drive quality, stout bed lining and tie-down points, easy-to-use interior controls, and a strong V6 engines. Its release date should be expected sometime in early next year, according to various sources within the industry’s circles.

The new 2017 Nissan Frontier manages to keep up with the competition even despite its advanced age. Nissan has been able to do this through offering appealing and compelling features that are up-to date. But even as it tries to keep off its critics, there are some areas the Frontier could’ve offered more attention.

The interior refinement, of instance, is dated. The material quality is average even for the top trims unless you opt for the pricey options available. While the control layout might seem driver-centric, the controls are flimsy and antiquated. On the pavement, you’ll also realize the road noise levels are intrusive. All these lackluster features give it a bare-bones look and offer its rivals a better standing in the segment.

2017 Nissan Frontier side

Even in terms of space, the Frontier suffers in terms of the backseat space regardless of the body styles. The front seats also lack adjustability as is the current trend in modern vehicles. Other areas the Frontier falls short in include a cumbersome handling, an unrefined V6 engine, and a spongy brake pedal and slow steering.

On the upside, though. The Frontier offers lots of practicality. Fu national details include a sliding bed extender, a spray-in bedliner, and adjustable cargo tie-downs.  It’s also a capable of-roader when you leave asphalt for dirt.

Therefore, we’d advice buyers in this segment to consider other vehicles in the segment first. These include the GMC Canyon, Chevrolet Colorado, and the Toyota Tacoma.

2017 Nissan Leaf

With sales now approaching 200,000 units, the Nissan Leaf is by far the highest-volume electric car ever sold. 2017 Nissan Leaf  is a new concept model and here we will talk about it. And the new 2017 model promises to go a notch higher banking on its improved specs. The new model is an all-new model and its release date should be expected sometime next year, probably in the latter half.

The new Leaf comes adorned with features such as a long cruising range, nationwide availability, a spacious rear sea, and hush cabin. And for 2017, the new model surpasses the earlier range and therefore promises to be a top choice for anyone interested in an electric car that offers a peppy all-electric driving, and efficiency.

2017 Nissan Leaf rear side

On a full battery charge, the base Leaf can travel up to 84 miles and 107 miles if you opt for either the SL or SV trims. This might not be the most impressive EV range, but as most drives would attest to, 80-100 miles is the typical driving range for daily driving needs even for gasoline-only users.

The segment has grown over the past couple of years, and now offers a plethora of similarly equipped or better alternatives obviously depending on the price range. Two particular stand outs are both the VW e-Golf and the Kia Soul EV. Both are “A” rated EVs and offer plenty of bells and whistles for the money, and most importantly, superior range and class-topping efficiency.

The only demerit to the two is that they aren’t available in all states, and that’s where the Ford Focus comes in, it has nationwide availability, as is the Leaf. Another option to consider is probably the BMW i3. Whichever way seems great for you, the new 2017 Nissan Leaf is certainly worth your time.

Trim Options – 2017 Nissan Leaf

SV, SL, and S are the three trim levels you should expect for the new five-passenger 2017 Nissan Leaf hatchback. Rumors are rife another model could be offered, but this will ostensibly be known on its release date.

2017 Nissan GT-R

Although grey areas are starting to show, the new 2017 Nissan GT-R still manages to offer an easy-to-drive nature and an Olympian powertrain that holds plenty of appeal. Highlights for 2017 include a very high handling limit, and a stupefying acceleration. Its release date should be expected sometime in the latter half of 2017.

Ever since the GT-R arrived on our shores seven years ago, it has consistently embodied the concept of maximizing bang for your back, which is a rarity in the automobile world. The same is true even for the new 2017 model that promises to offer a supercar performance that should be able to make both the Audi R8 and the 911 Turbo run for their money.

Then, you only needed about $70,000 for a 485-hp model, but as Nissan has continued to improve and better the performance and standing of the GT-R on the market so has the price continued to rise and now reigns in the region of six figures.

Upon entering its interior, you’ll realize the GT-R combines user-friendly controls and a driver-oriented cockpit which you’d normally expect from a sport coupe. Also, the column-mounted shift paddles and well-bolstered seats make it easy for the driver to focus his attention on the business at hand. Everything is intricately placed where it should be and within easy reach.

2017 Nissan GT-R front

Getting in and out of the GT-R is a snap, unlike some cars with similar performance. The doors and long and the seating position relatively high. The front seats are comfortable and offer good support and are surprisingly relaxing even for an occasional road trip. And opting for the Nismo and Black Edition models will offer even more seat bolstering suited for an aggressive driving.

Driving the GT-R is another interesting aspect. Chucking it into a corner, any corner, and it sticks through the bend and rockets out the other side effortlessly. Even with so many desirable features, nitpicking has yielded several idiosyncrasies. The GT-R doesn’t evoke the same kind of passion as other exotics, the Nismo model is offered with a very big price premium, the road noise is intrusive, and the transmission has a clunky around-town behavior.

That said, few rivals are offered for the new 2017 Nissan GT-R. They include the Porsche 911 Carrera S, Dodge Viper, Aura NSX, and the Corvette Z06.

Available Trims – 2017 Nissan GT-R

Three trim levels – Black Edition, Premium, and Nismo – are offered for the four-passenger 2017 Nissan GT-R coupe.

Exterior Changes & 2017 Nissan GT-R Interior Review

The GT-R Premium – the base model, offers standard features such as LED adaptive headlights, power driver seat (eight way), Brembo brakes, heated front seats, LED running lights, a 7” touchscreen display, an active-noise activation system, an adaptive suspension, an 11-speaker audio system, a navigation system, satellite radio, a four-way power front passenger seat, keyless entry and ignition, summer-rated tires, 20” forged wheels, simulated suede upholstery, a CD player, Bluetooth phone and audio connectivity, a rearview camera, and automatic dual-zone climate control.

The GT-R Black Edition adds unique black and red interior trim, rear spoiler (carbon fiber), black alloy lightweight wheels, and Recaro front sport leather seats.

Finally, the GT-R Nismo adds an even more potent engine, a titanium exhaust system, a solid suspension tuning, body reinforcements, unique interior trim, and aerodynamic upgrades. Of course more details such as packages, interior trim colors, and standalone options should be expected on its release date.

The performance-themed Nismo model gets a tweaked version of this V6 that is able to churn out about 600 hp and 481 lbs-ft. of torque. Zipping from 0-60 mph only needs under 3.2 seconds. EPA fuel economy numbers are estimated to be around 16/22/19 mpg in the city/highway/combined.

2017 Nissan Maxima

Although not in a true luxury-car territory, the new 2017 Nissan Maxima is more exciting than a typical family sedan thanks to clever engineering and feature such as a sporty driving character, upscale and quiet interior, and plenty of features for the money. Its release date should be expected sometime in the middle of next year.

Nissan has redesigned the Maxima in order to make a more appealing as a mainstream family sedan or an entry-level luxury car. This has been necessitated by the fact that it has had a too similar resume to Nissan’s Altima and a rather conservative styling, which has proven a hard sell for Nissan in recent years.

Seasoned drivers of the Maxima will realize how dramatic-looking the new model is judging by the changes and add-ons that the new model now offers. Its length has been improved by about 2.2” and now sits 1.3” lower than the outgoing model, therefore, enabling better aerodynamics and a sleeker styling. Efficiency and handling has also received some improvements in terms of losing some curb weight, while improving the structural rigidity.

2017 Nissan Maxima side

Under the hood, changes to expect include a more powerful engine yet thrifty at the pump. Interior wise, the seats are comfortable and offer ample support even for long distance travel. The upper trims, in particular, come with a sporty and premium feel thanks to the leather and simulated suede upholstery used extensively on the cabin.

However, in the quest of achieving a superb entry level luxury sedan, several features have been forfeited. The SR model offers a rather firm ride, the trunk and backseat do not offer ample space, and overall interior refinement is just above-average.

Thus, it would be prudent to check what the competition offers before deciding. They include the Buick LaCrosse, Acura TLX, the Toyota Avalon, Hyundai Azera, Audi A4, Kia Cadenza, and the Hyundai Genesis. But even with such intimidation, the new Maxima is appealing for those seeking a fun and affordable family sedan.

2017 Nissan Maxima Engine Specs

Beneath the hood of the 2017 Nissan Maxima is a familiar 3.5L V6 engine good for 300 hp and 261 lbs. ft. of torque. A CVT is offered as the only transmission system tasked with the responsibility of routing the power to the front wheels.

Rumors in industry circles allege Nissan is designing another engine for the Maxima, but the exact details are veiled, we, however, hope that Nissan will make them public before the Maxima’s release date.

Zipping from 0-60 mph only needs about 6.2 seconds, according to Nissan. EPA says the fuel economy should check in at an impressive 30/22/25 mpg on the highway/city/combined.

2016 Nissan Silvia S16

The 2016 Nissan Silvia S16 may prove to be a dark horse in the future period. The Silvia vehicle has not yet reached the desired level of popularity that it was initial expected. The competition has been harsh and there was little chance for the Silvia vehicle to make it right away. But the newest 2016 Nissan Silvia S16 is destined to change all that as the newest release has made a significant amount of changes that will reshape the vehicle itself and change its desired level of popularity.

As the car is still a mystery too many and a lot of people were only able to get introduced to the 2016 Nissan Silvia S16 at the Tokyo Motor Show this year when the concept was released. This was the first glance people were able to get to the new Silvia concept and at first impression it seemed that they liked it. This opens a whole new door of opportunities to the Silvia’s future and a highly expected production model.

The Nissan Silvia S16 is scheduled to be released next year as a 2016 model and it is the striking period for the car when we will see if it gets to be a must or a bust. For now we are hoping for a must, as the car has for now shown some spectacular specs and the best thing it has got going for it is the looks of the car which have been magnificently designed. We look for the car to make a splash as soon as possible so make your decision by getting informed though this review.

2016 Nissan Silvia S16 price and release date

An important factor in raising the popularity of the vehicle is going to be its price range. Currently it is set to be somewhere between $20,000 – $25,000. This is an affordable figure which will enable the car to get some attention and based on the current performance specs it’s a sound one. There are many things that need to be determined as well until the 2016 Nissan Silvia S16 gets released. The official release date is yet to be determined but expectations are sky high for it to be given until the end of next year.

2016 Nissan Silvia S16 front grille

There is no doubt that the looks of the 2016 Nissan Silvia S16 are going to be spectacular. The car has made some waves in terms of it being spectacularly designed already and if we were to base our expectations on the concept, it is going to be a good one. The end product has still not arrived yet, but based on the current announcements and the details revealed the car is going to focus a lot on its bodywork in order to come up with a spectacular outcome. The currently released photos give us a shape which is eye-catching and appealing. With an aggressive body frame and some very interesting add-ons the vehicle is going to make it big.

The initial thoughts were to keep the already appealing look of the predecessor. The preceding vehicle did have a good and handsome enough design but it needed something to push it over the edge. This time they are hoping for to add that something which will launch the vehicle’s popularity. The base of the car is still going to be the previous design which was pretty decent and they are going to expand upon and build up on the given idea and make the car better for the future period and its 2016 model year.

2016 Nissan Silvia S16 side

2016 Nissan Silvia S16 front side

The initial announcements say that the 2016 Nissan Silvia S16 is going to be a 5-passenger vehicle. It is going to come with a large interior upgrade which will mostly be based on the luxury specter of the car. This means that the people inside are supposed to feel as comfortable as they possibly can with the added additions. It will use the standard set of gadgets that are found in any current Nissan car. So navigation and Bluetooth connectivity is something that makes it inside immediately. There are many rumors on what else might be used but the final decision has not been revealed yet so we expect a bunch of standard additions as well for some styling optional one to be added.

As this is aimed to be a luxury car, the comfort levels are going to be set using some luxury and elegant materials inside. The previous Silvia was a very comfy vehicle and it did have a comfortable setting on the inside, so we expect it to be doubled from before. We will have to wait and see what the end product is going to look like as pictures and specs about the interior have yet to be released.

2016 Nissan Leaf

The currently second generation Nissan Leaf has been given an update. The new 2016 Nissan Leaf is a vehicle that will assume the role of the current vehicle which is announced to be carried over without any particular changes visually. Since 2010 the Leaf vehicle is screaming for an overhaul and as we expect the release of the third generation we will have to make due with the 2016 Nissan Leaf model which in a way manages to satisfy us until the real thing arrives.

As of June 2015, the Nissan Leaf is officially the top selling highway capable electric cars, with over 180,000 units sold worldwide. This vehicle managed to make its run for the title with the models that were released in 2013 and 2014 and without breaking a sweat managed to beat the competition, with the closest ones being the Chevrolet Volt and the Tesla Model S cars.

With the latest update we will receive some changes to the drivetrain which will make the already driving specs of the vehicle better and also something added on the inside as the interior gets a tad remodeled. But the exterior is what bugs us the most as it carries over without any changes from the previous model. We hope that Nissan is hiding its cards for the future generation model and that it manages to play them soon. Read the review to learn about the specs and the update of the new Leaf.

2016 Nissan Leaf exterior

What has been a major disappointment with the new 2016 Nissan Leaf model is tied with its exterior. There are going to be absolutely no changes. The exterior look has been completely copy/pasted from the previous model to the 2016 one. Usually it takes about four years until Nissan decides to give a visual update to their cars and it was the case with all the previous Nissan cars, we are still waiting for the Leaf to receive something new. The only thing that was added were actually a few new color choices. The car now gets the use of Forged Bronze, Coulis Red and Deep Blue Pearl that you can pick from. Everything else is virtually identical.

2016 Nissan Leaf back

As they have done such a lazy job with the outside of the car, the inside has a lot more to it. The 2016 Nissan Leaf has had some work done when it comes to convenience inside the car and also with the added technology. What is particularly interesting is the updated entertainment system which all Nissan trims receive. It is much more user friendly and generally better than before. On the entry level Leaf S vehicle you get a  five-inch color display with Bluetooth connectivity option and some other treats like hands-free text messaging, audio streaming and a  Nissan Connect feature with mobile apps for various social network connections.

The higher trims, the SV and the SL, come with everything that you can find inside the S trim already, but also pack some new features that you can use as well. The higher trims do make a difference in this case as the added features are very appropriately added and used. A seven-inch display that supports multi-touch is added here with also the updated navigation system, voice recognition, SiriusXM satellite radio and various other useful apps as well. The display on the graphic interface is also something new and it updates itself on every 12 miles of movement.

2016 Nissan Leaf inside

Under the hood are the most significant changes which the vehicle has received. The 2016 Nissan Leaf has an enhanced driving range now which is done by adding a stronger battery pack. The power boost is changed from 24 kWh to 30 kWh and gives the Leaf a total range of 107 miles on a single charge. So the good news is that you will be able to travel 23 miles more with the newest update, the bad news is that you only get it on higher SV and SL trims while the base S one still holds the current characteristics.

With the updated battery pack, the Leaf also gets some more weight under its belt, making it a bit less efficient that way. The base S trim still holds the same EPA rating of 126 city, 101 highway, and 114 combined mpg. The higher trims change to 124 city, 101 highway, and 112 combined mpg. With the changes to the battery being the only thing that was substituted inside the car, the 80-kW AC synchronous engine remains the same and it is still able to produce 107 horsepower and 187 pound-feet of torque as before.
