This legendary brand is perhaps one of the brands which was recently discontinued that people miss the most, and of course legendary cars like the Firebird and the Trans Am are the ones which are still going to continue with us. This is why we are still going to get a new 2016 Trans Am even with the downfall of the company already done.

Thanks to the magic of Trans Am Depot, the 2016 model is going to happen. This company actually started immediately after Pontiac went down as two brothers joined together with a graphic designer with a goal to bring old Trans Am cars back to life and offer us new models that Pontiac never got around to make. After securing the Trans Am exclusive rights and with the cooperation with Hurst Performance, they first managed to build the first-ever Trans Am with the iconic Hurst badge.

For the New York Auto show, the Trans Am depot is prepared to offer us the 2016 Pontiac Trans Am which is also considered as the Bandit Edition, based on the popular show as the main character was driving the said car. So we are actually in for a modern representation of the legendary 1977 Special Edition model which was regarded as one of the highest and best Trans Am models.

The 2016 Pontiac Trans Am is going to offer only 77 units, making it a limited edition model which all of the fans are going to appreciate and the best thing is that it is being endorsed by Burt Reynolds himself. 2016 Pontiac Trans AM Exterior

The exterior of the 2016 Pontiac Trans Am is going to feature all the legendary parts of the 1977 version and combine them with the modern fifth-generation Camaro features. But as this is a modern version of it, the model is going to feature more rounded shapes and original details. The front end features a V-shaped nose and has a Pontiac badge and additionally combines with a twin grille and two horizontal vents in the bumper. There is a quad-headlamp configuration but this time offers rounded units, unlike the original which had square ones.

The side of the car sees most of the similarity with the legendary ’77 version transferred here. It uses the honeycomb wheels with gold highlights and has a similar front fender part. There is no wraparound windscreen though, as it is substituted with a quarter window like the Camaro has. There is a big trunk lid spoiler to the back with a wraparound bumper and wide taillights that have a horizontal cluster. There is a shaker hood and a T-top roof, which are essential parts for any Trans Am model.

Interior Changes

The inside of the 2016 Pontiac Trans Am features a completely reworked Camaro interior to fit the look of the legendary model’s one. All of the parts, like the instrument cluster, the seats, the dashboard and even other parts features the styling cues taken from the 77 model. There are some retro looking gauges which feature some Bandit graphics and in the center console you can see the Hurst shifter and some Trans Am lettering. The seats have a standard Trans Am shape and are made with a gold center sections that comes with stitching, and detailing.

There is a cool design element added to the seats as the headrest has a Bandit graphic imprinted on it which actually looks pretty cool even though it has nothing to do with the original design. The door panels have gold “screaming chicken” graphics and the dashboard also has the gold top on it. The convince features have not been specified but as this models combines the elements taken from a Camaro car, expect to see some of them transferred form the latest Chevrolet Camaro model.

Engine Specs

The 2016 Pontiac Trans Am is going to benefit from an added Trans Am Depot’s state-of-the-art engines. This Trans Am will receive a 840 Extreme Performance Package which combines with the 7.4-liter LSX V-8 engine and a 2.9-liter twin-screw supercharger. This all amounts to an output of around 840 horsepower and the model also combines with the a manual or automatic transmission. The 0-60 mph acceleration is around 3 seconds and has a top speed of around 200 mph. We cannot even start to compare the improvements that have been made with the legendary 1977 version as this is a modern car that adds a lot more to its mix.

Release date and price

The latest 2016 Pontiac Trans Am version that is going to be offered gets its release date by the second part of this year. Expect to see it in September as it will be available for sale from then. And the price, well the price for this limited edition series is a hefty $115,000, quite appropriate for the Bandit.

2016 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque Exterior

The basic exterior appearance of the 2016 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque is mostly going to be carried over for this car. Btu the model is going to be tweaked up a bit to keep it competitive. The reshaped headlights are a nice new touch and the distinctive LED daytime running lights signature has also been added. The bumper has been reshaped as well and is wider while the wider tow-eye covers and added larger air intakes have also been featured on this car.

The slimline LED lights were renovated here as well and the grille also has a light refresh to it but not that much different compared to the previous version. It includes a horizontal new fine-mesh pattern, seen on the standard models, while the Dynamic trim offers a hexagonal grille design with a more prominent mesh design.

The new 2016 Chevrolet Silverado Realtree Bone Collector comes loaded with Chevy accessories, impressive brake upgrades, and a styling exterior design. Leveraging on the versatility, personalization, and strength possibilities of Chevy’s own Silverado 1500, the new truck comes with a unique personality that traverses many aspects. Its release date should be expected this Spring.

This is what Sandor Piszar – director of Chevrolet Truck Marketing, had to say about Chevy trucks, “They demonstrate what’s possible through assurance, inspiration, and personalization of the industry’s longest-lasting, and most dependable full-size trucks. They have made it possible for consumers to go where they want and this has been as a result of the inspiration that our vehicles give them.”

There are plenty of technologies such as the Android Auto and Apple CarPlay capabilities along with front-end design styling. The Collector Concept is based on the Silverado 1500 High Country crew cab. It wears a new off-road package (a front push bar, sport bar, assist steps), larger, aggressive off-road tires, and 22” black aluminum wheels.

Also in the cargo bed is a unique drawer system, a cooler mounted just behind the cab, and secure stowage of outdoor gear. Additionally, the Chevrolet Accessories also bundles an LED off-road light bar mounted on the sport bar to aid it illuminate at night.

The Realtree Bone Collector green graphics are complemented by the eye-catching camo theme, which incorporates Michael Waddell’s signature. The theme extends further to the bungee cords and tie-down rings in the bed, used to secure camping gear. The green color also extends to the six-piston disc brake calipers.

Interior wise, there are plenty of likable features and technologies as well. These features include the green-tinted lens on the unique instrument cluster display, custom embroidered front-seat headrests, leather-trimmed bucket seats, matching stitching accents, and floor liners.

Others include Wi-Fi hotspot connectivity, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay capability, tri-zone climate control, a leather-wrapped tilt-and-telescopic steering wheel, full power accessories, exterior heated mirrors, adaptive xenon headlights, and adaptive cruise control.

One of the most prevalent changes in the Silverado would be the paint scheme. As already mentioned above, the doors come with Michael Walden’s signature touch. Also, as can be found on Chevy’s accessory guide, there are host of exterior upgrades to consider.

The Realtree Bone Collector rides on Chevy’s optional 22” mud-terrain-wrapped-tires aluminum wheels. Weatherproof and lockable storage for guns, tools and any other gear. Rear-facing LED off-road tires, tubular step bars, and a more-menacing push bar.

Even with no photos provided for the truck’s interior, the camo theme continues deep into the cabin. The gauge cluster gets line green-tented lenses, while the dashboard has the Realtree camo pattern. The steering wheel and leather seats have a lime green-matching stitching as well.

Additionally, an ambient lighting package, under-seat storage system, and doorsill plates with Silverado logos are offered on the Chevy Accessories items.

The 2016 Jeep Wrangler Backcountry also gains the optional Sahara side steps at no additional cost, so is the hard top. But the body color hard top is offered as an option.

The rear passengers will undoubtedly face an uphill task whenever they ingress or egress due to the low bench that offers cramped foot-and knee room. Adults will find long trims depressing. Thanks to the removable top, nimble riders can just clamber over the sides rather than face the awkward task of entering through the doors.

See, the 2016 Jeep Wrangler Backcountry is a capable off-road machine that is capable of dominating any off-road trails. This model offers upgraded suspension systems and plenty of configurations that will put any SUV you’ve ever owned to shame.

For more than two decades now, the Toyota Tacoma has continued to be a competitive pickup truck that has provided its buyers an alternative to the often-perceived large and costly full-size regular trucks. If you’ve been a seasoned user of the previous versions of the Tacoma, the 2016 Toyota Tacoma won’t offer any major surprises apart from the usual refreshments.

Traditional users may find the new notable improvements made on the 2016 model to have, to some extent, burnished its appeal. The new model doesn’t come with the dinky steel wheels found on the regular cab 4×2 stripper. You only have to choose between the crew cab and the extended cab body styles.

2016 Toyota Tacoma Engine Specs

Both the SR and the SR5 trims get the standard 2.7L four-cylinder base engine rated at 159 horsepower and 180 pounds of torque or the optional 3.5L V6 engine rated at 278 hp and 265 pounds of torque.

The 2WD and a six-speed automatic transmission system are standard for the two powerplants. The AWD is available as an option. The four-cylinder engine returns fuel economy ratings of 19/23/21 mpg in the city/highway/combined with the 2WD, and 19/22/20 mpg with the four-wheel-drive system.

On the other hand, the V6 returns 19/24/21 mpg with the 4x2s and 17/20/18 mpg for the four-wheel-drive system.

During our own test drive, the V6 with an automatic sprinted to 60 mph from naught in 8.5 seconds.

2016 Lexus RX 450h Hybrid

The release of a new 2016 Lexus RX 450h car is expected late this summer. The car is going to offer enhanced fuel ratings and a visual experience that is just perfect for the class. Lexus was actually the first vehicle to offer a hybrid powertrain inside a luxury crossover car and it has done so back in 2005 with the RX. The 2016 model builds upon this premise and enhances the ability of a hybrid luxury vehicle.

Its hybrid sibling the 350 has been remodeled as well and receives an update but the 450h version has gone through much more. Giving a better exterior look to the car will attract fans even more and the added convinces on the inside are also promised for the upcoming model. Not to mention the most important part of the design and that is the powertrain of the car which is going to be more powerful thanks to some fine craftsmanship form the designers of Lexus.

2016 Lexus RX 450h Hybrid exterior

The changes of the new 2016 Lexus RX 450h Hybrid look for the vehicle being up front of it with the some minor style changes. Actually a big style changes is the incorporation of a spindle grille that is a standard feature for all Lexus vehicles and particularly recently released models. The 450h version has a gapping maw up front and is completely different from the 350 version which actually uses a design with a mesh grille. Everything up front has been redesigned and receives a new look. Starting from the headlamps, the front fender flares, a new bumper and even adding fog lamps as well. Maybe the liens are not as sharp as the ones seen in the NX model but they are pretty angular and provide an aggressive style for the RX hybrid model now.

Looking at the sides, you will notice that the side creases have also become much more angular. The C-pillars are blacked out while the rear has also received a more sharper look than before. The taillights have been redesigned in a way that they are much wider but the entire profile of the back resembles the RX model. This is not the same for the front end, so by combining these two different styles we get a pretty handsome looking and well design vehicle now.

Powertrain

Under the hood the 2016 Lexus RX 450h hybrid uses a Atkinson-cycle 3.5-liter V6. This engine design is actually based on the 3.5-liter V6 one which is used inside the RX 350 car. This engine can produce a power of around 300 horsepower when it is combined with en electric motor generator. This is an increase of almost 5 points compared with the power produced by the last year’s car. The power is sent to the front wheels using an updated 8-speed automatic transmission which provides much better characteristics than before. There have not been any official mileage numbers released yet, but we assume that they are going to measure somewhere around 32 mpg city/28 highway/30 combined, for the front-wheel version while all-wheel-drive 2016 RX 450h may produce 30/28/29.

Interior

The inside of the 2016 Lexus RX 450h Hybrid has not been dramatically redesigned. The Hybrid car will use the similar setup that it had on the inside as before and apart from some minor changes it is virtually the same car as before. Thanks to the increase of the wheelbase of 1.9 inches and the overall increase of dimensions of the car of 5 inches, the car has gained a lot of space inside which provides more legroom for the passengers inside. Besides additional space there are some other comfort enhancing features that are added. Rear passengers may enjoy outboard rear seats and new 11.6-inch monitors mounted on the back of the front headrests.

The second row of seats contains the 60/40-split power folding ability. But besides this there are also a bunch of other additions and gadgets to enhance the quality of the interior of the car. For instance, there is the retractable power panorama moonroof, a 12.3-inch screen for the infotainment systems, a color head-up display, but there is no touchscreen in the infotainment panel as the RX is an old school vehicle and has knob control and buttons.
