2021 Nissan Qashqai review

2021 Nissan Qashqai – Release Date and Review

There have been a lot of rumors about a 2021 Nissan Qashqai vehicle going around which have finally been confirmed with the recently emerged spy photos about this model. It was only a short time ago that Nissan said that they are looking forward to bringing the Qashqai model to the US soil but that they are planning that for the future or the upcoming model. Does this mean that unintentionally they managed to get one piece of news slip past them and that this is the new vehicle they and everybody else has been talking about?

The 2015 Nissan Qashqai was introduced quite recently and people have said that there is no chance of a new model appearing any time soon. Well, it appears that Nissan has been secretly working under the radar and have been getting ready with their new crossover model for its ultimate appearance on the US market. The previous car had some minor changes which leave a lot of room for the 2021 model to work on and in fact judging by the released spy pics, there has been a lot of work done there.

There have been indications of the new Rogue model appearing ad even some talks about a Rogue Hybrid version appearing in the market soon. But as the Qashqai already seeming as a done deal this one is going to be put on hold, thus enter the release date for the Qashqai before the Rogue. Read on the rest of the review so you get yourself informed about all the news for this vehicle.

Exterior

Actually there is not much work for the designers to get the 2021 Nissan Qashqai ready for the US market as the design is already quite appropriate and likable there. The design of the current Qashqai is a sporty one and will not change significantly in that specter as they are planning to keep the same sort of spirit for the new one. They are going to give updates in terms of the U.S. DOT regulations to be meat which means adding some changes to the front fascia and the headlights.

The rear part of the car is not going to feature as many changes as the front side of the car. We are going to see a lot of carryover parts here and the rear end of the can may be a complete European carryover. The rid height is also the same and we are going to get the same type of vehicle in terms of the position once you are in the car. This may strike us as odd as this is the initial difference between the US and European-based SUVs, but we think that it is going to be appealing enough for the people in America.

Interior

The inside of the 2021 Nissan Qashqai is going to be very similar to the previous model. In fact, it is going to have a lot of borrowed things from the Rogue model that seems sort of similar to this one. We can imagine the inside of the future 2021 Qashqai as a combination of the current one and the new Rogue model.

There is going to be one key exception here as the smaller variant of the car is not going to incorporate a third row of seats, which is to be expected of course. So not a lot will be changed for the US version as the inside of the European model matches well with the US standards and we do not expect a lot of discrepancies happening there

Engine

There are actually more questions about what is going to end up under the hood of the 2021 Nissan Qashqai model. The current European version uses two gasoline engines and two diesel engines. The US-based Nissan Rogue has the  2.5-liter inline-four and this one is currently not on the list of the available Qashqai, which may change for the US version.

If we take a look at the current draft of engines the most likely option is the 1.6-liter inline-four engine which just might fit the US market needs. This one makes 161 horsepower and 177 pound-feet of torque and is actually an improvement compared to the Rogue model which makes 170 horsepower and 175 pound-feet of torque and it might come as very useful for the US market version.

There is also news that the model is not going to use a six-speed manual gearbox that the European version already has, which actually immediately disqualifies the small diesel version making its way inside the car. This leaves us with a continuously variable transmission system as our only option for now.

Release date and price

Looking at the rice of the Nissan Rogue which is  $23,040, we can say that we are looking at a base MSRP price of $21,000 for the 2021 Nissan Qashqai version. Actually not bad for this model and something that could be affordable for the US-based shoppers. The release date is going to come next year and we estimate it hitting the stands in the middle of the year.
