There are news about the announcement of the 2018 Mercedes-AMG E63 model being released. It appears that Mercedes is continuing in revamping its entire lineup. There have been a number of vehicles which have done so already and that have received changes not only in appearance but even with their names. The AMG E63 is another model which has been given a new name as many of the Daimler’s AMG sub-brands have done so as well, namely the AMG C63 and AMG GT.
What the changes made to the 2018 Mercedes-AMG E63 are going to concentrate on is the updates made to the chassis of the ca, a completely revised interior and a new kind of engine matted under the hood. We have created a review which will help you fathom just how much the model has changed for the better and it makes the model lighter but more rigid as well.
This model at the same time marks the new-generation vehicle of this brand and is supposed to substituted the former one in great fashion. This one can be particularly important as it needs to fend off against the all-wheel drive M, which has been announced, and against competitors like Cadillac and Audi which have still to reveal their play into all of this. 2018 Mercedes-AMG E63 Exterior
The 2018 Mercedes-AMG E63 is going to take the exterior styling direction of the current E Class model that Mercedes-Benz is outputting. As it was seen at the Detroit Auto Show and as it is the case with many current E-Class models the AMG E63 is going to have a shape like a larger C-Class with just minor differences. So we can actually say that the E63 is going to be very similar to the C63. What the difference between these two cars is a longer wheelbase, different headlamps, a new kind of rear bumper, slightly modified roofline, the taillights are also going to be changed and thicker C-pillars. But the greatest and most important innovation here is heavily revised upper character lines which this model gets.
But there are some parts which will help the 2018 AMG E 63 stand out among its E-Class peers. The difference is going to be in the reshaped front and rear bumper parts, with new side skirts as well and a similar grill but with a different pattern. There is going to be a motorsport-inspired rear diffuser in the back of the car as the rear end also gets three fins, chrome-plated, quad-exhaust tips with an integrated trunk-lid spoiler. The front fenders are also new and are wider which also prompts a wider front track and some lightweight sporty wheels.
2018 Mercedes-AMG E63 Interior Specs
The interior of the 2018 Mercedes-AMG E63 is not going to bring many surprises as it is going to continue the same kind of design which the previous AMG models have had. The fact is that the new model is going to borrow a lot of new elements from the C63 model but they will be built on the basis taken from the S63. This is seen in the fact that the E-Class models and S-Class models have a dashboard which has a similar design as they both have a smooth look and the same positioning of the A/C vents.
The majority of the cockpit is going to be the same as the E-Class but it will be enhanced by adding sportier elements. These sporty features include a bespoke instrument cluster with a 200-mph speedometer, a flat-bottom steering wheel, a carbon-fiber and aluminum trim and of course bolstered seats wrapped in leather. And of course, what AMG brand could go without a AMG Dynamic Select switch and AMG-exclusive analogue clock. There is going to be an expanded range of options which is going to range from new seats and stitching as well.
2018 Mercedes-AMG E63 Engine Details
The greatest fact about the 2018 Mercedes-AMG E63 update is that it is going to get an all new all-wheel drivetrain. The twin-turbo, 5.5-liter V-8 is no longer going to be used as the model now continues on with a 4.0-liter V-8, the same one found in the Mercedes-Benz AMG GT car.
The specs were preserved for the release date of the model, but as they have been leaked they now stand at a whopping 563 horses and 553 pound-feet of torque for the E63 and 604 horsepower and 627 pound-feet for the E63 S version. The E63 goes 0-60 mph in 3.7 seconds while the E63 S can accelerate to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds. The top speed remains the same at 155 mph as the car that it borrows the engine from. The models comes with a standard 4MATIC all-wheel drive and a nine-cog automatic which is supposed to improve fuel economy for the car.
