First on our list is the BMW 3 Series and Mercedes-Benz C Class, which will certainly offer ruthless competition to the 2018 Jaguar XE. The latter rival comes with a dynamic performance and exquisite design, while the former is equally competitive to both the C-Class and the XE. Other vehicles worth checking out would be the Lexus IS 250 and Infiniti Q50, they come as fine sports sedans with top-of-the-line luxury equipment and materials.

Engine Specs – 2018 Jaguar XE

Under the hood of the new “baby Jag,” as its apt to become known, will be several engines. It will be unleashed with two distinct models: XE 35t and XE 20d. The XE 35t trim model will come with a supercharged 3L V6 engine beneath its hood. This engine will be able to yield around 340 hp and 332 pounds of torque. This power will consequently be transferred to the wheels through the 8-speed auto transmission system with paddle shifters. Also, the same combination comes alive in the superb Jaguar F-Type.

According to the automaker, the 2018 Jaguar XE 35t is able to whip from 0-60 mph in 4.9 seconds, which is amazing whilst considering other models in its segment. The top speed is capped to 155 mph. On the other hand, the 2018 Jaguar XE 20d will focus entirely on fuel economy with its 2.0L 4-cylinder turbodiesel engine that is able to crank out 180 hp and 318 pounds of torque. It will be mated to an 8-speed auto transmission system. All of the models mentioned above will be offered with the RWD system as standard drive system, while the AWD will be offered optionally. Both the models named above will be offered in three trim levels: Premium, Prestige and R-Sport. The R-Sport will come featuring 20” wheels, rear spoiler and performance-oriented suspension, larger front air intakes. The features will highlight its sporting intentions at first glance. Coming standard on both the R-Sport and XE 35T models will be a sport suspension in combination with performance-oriented settings, while the XE 20d will feature comfort-oriented ride equipment. Also, optionally provided on the R-Sport and Prestige trim models will be the Adaptive shocks. Moving forward, the automaker is be expected to expand the North American XE line-up with both a manual transmission (anticipated to be provided with both a V6 and a diesel powerplant) and a turbocharged 4-cylinder petrol engine. This will match the same configurations of the European versions.
