2017 Infiniti Q50 Release Date and Interior

Infiniti boasts of a reputation built on offering abundant technologies and features for all models that bear its nameplate, and the same continues into 2017 with the newest 2017 Infiniti Q50 continuing with its automaker’s long-standing demeanor. It is one of the better choices you can have in the luxury sedan segment, but a closer assessment of its Hybrid counterpart proves the opposite on many fronts, and buyers are advised to be cautious when shopping. Its release date should be expected in early 2017.

On one hand, the new 2017 Infiniti Q50 is one of the highest rated sedan in its segment, but on the other, it seems to be marred in controversy. Let us explain. The conventionally powered 2017 Infiniti Q50 3.7L gasoline engine is as good as it looks, it offers impressive road manners, offers lots of bells and whistles, offers an athletic handling, and is suitable for everyday commute, and therefore achieves an undisputed “A” rating.

The 2017 Infiniti Q50 Hybrid, in stark contrast, receives a “D” rating thanks in part to the poorly executed hybrid powertrain and whatnot. The major difference here lies solely in how the two drive, and not how their exterior designs look or how their interiors have been trimmed. The Q50 Hybrid, in particular, suffers from inconsistent braking and acceleration thanks in part to the optional Direct Adaptive Steering system that eliminates the physical link between the front wheels and the steering wheel.

This results to lack of feedback and an unsettling delay in response. Other foibles that nip the Hybrid heels are its poor ride quality and limited trunk volume. That said, it is our prerogative to recommend the better one and bash the other. The better one here being the conventional gasoline-fueled Q50, and the latter being the Q50 Hybrid.

2017 Infiniti Q50 Engine Specs & Fuel Economy

Motivation for the 2017 Infiniti Q50 is offered by a 3.7L V6 engine rated at 328 hp and 269 lbs. ft. of torque. The only transmission system offered is a seven-speed. Buyers have the option of specifying either a front wheel drive or an all-wheel drive mode.

0-60 mph acceleration with the front-wheel drive Q50 Premium trim requires 5.5 seconds – a quick time for the segment.

More vivacity is offered by the 3.5L V6 engine paired by an electronic motor, which gets its power from a lithium-ion battery. The result of this combo is a power output of 360 hp.

Fuel economy figures are still being worked on, but we expect EPA to make them public months leading to its release date.
