2017 Volvo V40 Cross Country Review

The newest 2017 Volvo V40 Cross Country gets a new face as it comes with many improvements that come on the interior, wheels and color options and updated technology as well. The model will be showcased this year at the Geneva Auto Show and the announcement came via several teaser images which were released by Volvo in order to prepare us for the actual thing.

The Cross Country is a young brand as it was introduced in 2013 alongside the base V40 version. It is still a five-passenger hatchback vehicle but one which adds greater versatility as it has a higher ground clearance that the entry level V40, an AWD system and dark body cladding. The model is a softrader and is aimed to help you through some very bad weather conditions as it can go through ice and show, rather than being able to tackle terrain with deep mud and rocks.

The 2017 update to the V40 Cross Country plans to make an already good and popular car an even better one. It is the top selling Volvo vehicle in Europe and the second best Volvo globally and they aim to keep it that way and even go beyond with the release of the new updated version.

There are still no information about the official US release date but after the showcasing in Geneva there may get to talk about it a bit. Our best guess is that it will happen possibly next year. The opportunity of having this attractive vehicle in the US market is a welcoming one and will sure make the fans happy. Read all about the Volvo V40 Cross Country 2017 in this review.

2017 Volvo V40 Cross Country Exterior

The majority of the updates made to the 2017 Volvo V40 Cross Country is seen on its exterior. The new model gets a new sporty grille which adds a center mesh and a Volvo logo placed on it. The headlights come with the trademark “Thor’s Hammer” LED headlight accents which is something that makes it a distinguishable Volvo car. The V40 carries over the faux front skid plates down below and the satin chrome trim extends far wider than it used to be before.

A wonderful new addition is the fact that the model is going to come with no less than eight wheel choices which are going to be available across the entire V40 lineup and including the R-Design and Cross Country respectively. The exterior is also graced with five new color variants that add Amazon Blue and Denim Blue, as the new ones to go along the  Bursting Blue, Mussel Blue and Luminous Sand, which are the old colors.

Interior Changes

The interior of the 2017 Volvo V40 Cross Country was mostly inspired by the Volvo Concept Estate project car. It adds City Weave upholstery and Charcoal/Blond steering wheel color options. There are also several panel trim options offered on the inside, for instance Black Grid Aluminum, Milled Aluminum and Stealth Aluminum. The accents in the doors combine by adding contrasting stitching while a black headliner is now optional.

These are actually the changes that are going to make the difference compared to the previous car as everything else is mostly carried over. This does not have to be a bad thing as the car has been widely considered a roomy and comfortable car, as long as you do not exceed over 4 passengers. Something that the buyers will certainly like is the Volvo On Call smartphone app. Using it you can access the vehicle’s in-car features and remote control them. It also expands with an access to Microsoft Band 2, Apple Watch and Android Wear devices.

2017 Mercedes-AMG E63 Review

There are news about the announcement of the 2017 Mercedes-AMG E63 model being released. It appears that Mercedes is continuing in revamping its entire lineup. There have been a number of vehicles which have done so already and that have received changes not only in appearance but even with their names. The AMG E63 is another model which has been given a new name as many of the Daimler’s AMG sub-brands have done so as well, namely the AMG C63 and AMG GT.

What the changes made to the 2017 Mercedes-AMG E63 are going to concentrate on is the updates made to the chassis of the ca, a completely revised interior and a new kind of engine matted under the hood. We have created a review which will help you fathom just how much the model has changed for the better and it makes the model lighter but more rigid as well.

This model at the same time marks the new-generation vehicle of this brand and is supposed to substituted the former one in great fashion. This one can be particularly important as it needs to fend off against the all-wheel drive M, which has been announced, and against competitors like Cadillac and Audi which have still to reveal their play into all of this. Find out more about the release date and the specs and performance rates about the Mercedes-AMG E63 2017 right here.

2017 Mercedes-AMG E63 Exterior

The 2017 Mercedes-AMG E63 is going to take the exterior styling direction of the current E Class model that Mercedes-Benz is outputting. As it was seen at the Detroit Auto Show and as it is the case with many current E-Class models the AMG E63 is going to have a shape like a larger C-Class with just minor differences. So we can actually say that the E63 is going to be very similar to the C63. What the difference between these two cars is a longer wheelbase, different headlamps, a new kind of rear bumper, slightly modified roofline, the taillights are also going to be changed and thicker C-pillars. But the greatest and most important innovation here is heavily revised upper character lines which this model gets.

But there are some parts which will help the 2017 AMG E 63 stand out among its E-Class peers. The difference is going to be in the reshaped front and rear bumper parts, with new side skirts as well and a similar grill but with a different pattern. There is going to be a  motorsport-inspired rear diffuser in the back of the car as the rear end also gets three fins, chrome-plated, quad-exhaust tips with an integrated  trunk-lid spoiler. The front fenders are also new and are wider which also prompts a wider front track and some lightweight sporty wheels.

Interior Specs

The interior of the 2017 Mercedes-AMG E63 is not going to bring many surprises as it is going to continue the same kind of design which the previous AMG models have had. The fact is that the new model is going to borrow a lot of new elements from the C63 model but they will be built on the basis taken from the S63. This is seen in the fact that the E-Class models and S-Class models have a dashboard which has a similar design as they both have a smooth look and the same positioning of the A/C vents.

The majority of the cockpit is going to be the same as the E-Class but it will be enhanced by adding sportier elements. These sporty features include a bespoke instrument cluster with a 200-mph speedometer, a flat-bottom steering wheel, a carbon-fiber and aluminum trim and of course bolstered seats wrapped in leather. And of course, what AMG brand could go without a AMG Dynamic Select switch and AMG-exclusive analogue clock. There is going to be an expanded range of options which is going to range from new seats and stitching as well.

Engine Details

The greatest fact about the 2017 Mercedes-AMG E63 update is that it is going to get an all new all-wheel drivetrain. The twin-turbo, 5.5-liter V-8 is no longer going to be used as the model now continues on with a 4.0-liter V-8, the same one found in the Mercedes-Benz AMG GT car.

The specs were preserved for the release date of the model, but as they have been leaked they now stand at a whopping 563 horses and 553 pound-feet of torque for the E63 and 604 horsepower and 627 pound-feet for the E63 S version. The E63 goes 0-60 mph in 3.7 seconds while the E63 S can accelerate to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds. The top speed remains the same at 155 mph as the car that it borrows the engine from. The models comes with a standard 4MATIC all-wheel drive and a nine-cog automatic which is supposed to improve fuel economy for the car.

2017 Aston Martin DB11 Price and Interior

This year the British automaker is finally releasing its 2017 Aston Martin DB11. But what makes this car so special? It is the fact that with this model the legendary VH (Vertical/Horizontal) platform, which Aston Martin models have been using since 2011, is finally being retired and exchanged for a new one. The platform which is going to come into place of this one is engineered by Mercedes AMG team and will be a lot lighter and very efficient.

2017 Aston Martin DB11 front side

The platform is not the only new thing in the 2017 Aston Martin DB11, as the model is going to use a biturbo, 4.0-liter V-8 which was used first in the Mercedes-Benz AMG GT model, so a lot of things have already changed here in fact. The DB11  is going to be the first of its kind and will be the model which is going to take the place of the iconic DB9 model.

If you are a fan of movies, you might have already gotten a glimpse of how the car might look. Since the Aston Martin DB11 model is going to be built in the same style language the DB10 James Bond car was made, which was previewed in the latest 007 movie, you might already understand which direction Aston Martin is taking with its future vehicles. This style of design is actually going to incorporate the compact appearance of a tourer vehicle and combining it with the classic features that were established in the 90s and which made the car so famous in the first place.

The design is not the only thing making a debut here as there are some thrilling news about the drivetrain of the car. The model will make its first ever appended with the Gaydon’s brand-new V-12 powerplant. It turbochargers the engine, makes an efficient and low emission offer and also enhances the output for teh car. 2017 Aston Martin DB11 Exterior

There was much debate on what the design of the 2017 Aston Martin DB11 car was going to look like. Much of the mystery was ended when the model of the car made its debut on the big screen, hinting to us what we may expect. Now with the release date at hand, there are more information about the design of DB11. Up front, it is going to have smaller headlamps and a grille which is insured by the one see in the  DB10 car. The front end also sees a revised hood and all of this details are going to appear on the model come the showcasing in Geneva.

The side view of the car actually bares more differences compared to the DB10. It retains the long trademark hood but adds sportier rear haunches, a different look on the roofline and quarter windows, and the rear overhang is shorter. The rear end of the DB11 actually copies more from the DB10 than any other part of the car. First of all, they have a similar decklid and a similar diffuser. It excludes the large spoiler this time but adds the C-shaped taillights that further extend into the trunk lid which go towards the Aston Martin badge which is found in the middle.

Some other unique features that the Aston Martin DB11 adds is a new AeroBlade which has become a trademark addition of Aston Martin cars since 2015. It acts as a virtual spoiler as redirects air through the bodywork.

Interior Review

The interior of the 2017 Aston Martin DB11 has been completely redesigned as they have started from scratch, but they have not gone too much away from their classic GT design. The dashboard has a clean design and uses a wide center stack as the twin rectangular A/C sit between the infotainment screen and its controls. These parts are perhaps familiar with the previous car, but the race-inspired instrument cluster,  the flat-bottom steering wheel and the 12-inch TFT display is all new for this model.

The car also comes with a new TFT infotainment screen which uses rotary control and an optional touchpad. You also get completely updated satellite navigation, an auto-park assist that features a 360-degree camera and a premium  audio system.

The roominess has been significantly improved compared to the DB9 as there have been 2.5 inches added to the wheelbase of this car. This benefits the headroom and legroom specs for the rear passengers and the luggage department is now also very large so you can put in two big trolley bags if you wish.

2017 McLaren 570 GT Price

McLaren tries to expand its super series of vehicles by adding the 2017 McLaren 570 GT model to its lineup. After the 570S and the 540C Coupe, which is unfortunately a Euro-only version, the 570 GT model is going to be a fine and a nice addition to the ever expanding range of McLaren vehicles. This new model brings a lot of intrigue and can very likely topple the popularity of the previous model as it expands with more luggage space besides the already base features that these models have. All of this an even more will be showcased before the release date at the Geneva Auto Show.

The McLaren vehicles are  ultra-fast, daily driver sports car, as they announced their Super Series of cars. They can easily go against whatever Mercedes has to pin against them and even tackle on a Porsche 911 Turbo. The 2017 McLaren 570GT is going to retain those features and bring some added abilities as it is much better suited for long, continent-crushing drives. It has a revised cabin and an elongated panoramic roof. We were a bit surprised of the car retaining its 2 seat configuration as there were some rumors of a 2+2 setup, but McLaren denied this from happening.

The 2017 McLaren 570 GT is going to be built using the MonoCell II carbon-fiber tub which was also used for the 570S and 540C Coupes as McLaren continues to incorporate this kind of way of developing their cars. The great news is that the car has been confirmed for its US release and for more information about all of the specs of this car just keep reading the review.

2017 McLaren 570 GT Price Exterior

The exterior design of the 2017 McLaren 570 GT is actually to follow and borrow a lot from the  570S. The front end  of the car is pretty much the same as it uses a similar P1-inspired styling and aerodynamic design. The trunk lid actually has strong crease lines which are there in order to optimize the air flow over the front fenders of the car and the aero blades below the bumper are there in order to create  an area of high pressure ahead of the radiators.

2017 McLaren 570 GT back light

There are some similarities on the side view of the car with dihedral doors and large side vents  but smaller intakes placed atop the rear fenders. The only change worth mentioning are teh body-colored door inserts that make the 570 GT distinguishable compared to the 570C and 570S models. But the side view also sees a slightly different shape which goes towards the rear end of the car.

The vented hood is now replaced with a side-opening glass hatch which has a gap between the panoramic glass roof and the deck lid. It perhaps brings a less aggressive look for the car but manages to keep it sporty. Btu with these changes the aerodynamics were put off a bit so in order to make things better a  rear spoiler that’s 10 mm taller than the one on other vehicles is used and stabilizes the car very much. There is also a revised deck lid fitted in the lower section of the grille.

Interior Changes of 2017 McLaren 570 GT

There are actually a lot of changes made on the inside of the 2017 McLaren 570 GT, perhaps even more than we have expected it to be. Let’s start with the fixed glass panoramic roof which comes as standard. And because of the extended glass area, the model uses a revised air conditioning system with a dual-zone unit  that is fully automatic and has independent settings for both passengers up front.

2017 McLaren 570 GT seats

One of the more important features of the car is the extended luggage compartment. They are calling it a Touring Deck and is positioned just above the engine and can be accessed using the side opening glass hatch. It adds additional 7.8 cubic feet of storage space and is completely wrapped in leather, making the overall storage space  13.1 cubic feet which is more than impressive for a sports car model.

The model also features a much more quieter cabin which is not only made possible due to the new revised exhaust system but also because of the standard McLaren Audi o Plus sound system and specially developed Pirelli tires. There is an optional eight-speaker audio system features two 100mm  mid/bass drive units and two 25mm tweeters in the rear.

Other features include the heated sports seats upholstered in high-quality leather, eight-way adjustment, a touchscreen for the infotainment and navigation, Nappa leather, a TFT instrument cluster, and carbon-fiber inserts.
