When we think about motor sports, the name Alfa Romeo Giulietta immediately springs to mind. The car made its debut back in 1954 and was released a sedan, coupe and convertible model in the start. It did not get too long for this compact car to start being related with automotive sports and racing and so it spawned an era which made the Giulliett one of the icons of the sport. Throughout its career, various incarnations of the model have been included in automotive sports in one way or the other. The most famous inclusions are perhaps the Sprint Zagato and Sprint Special models. The Giuletta gets to be replaced by the Giulia in 1965 and leaves the brand dormant till 2010 when they decide to bring this iconic car back. The major updated which has been done for the 2014 has made the car even more popular and a continuation of this renewal of the popular racing brand was done with the introduction of the Sprint model now in 2015.
The new 2015 Giulietta Spring model from Alfa Rome will come with a few new and interesting features that will grace the model. As you can see from the pictures of the 2015 Giulietta Sprint, the car will be updated both inside and out, but the greatest change comes inside the car or rather under the hood where a new engine lies. The release of this car will actually mark the 60th anniversary of the brand and is one of the reasons why this car gets an update. Despite the fact that the original car does not have a lot of thing in common with the current one, it is still a nice gesture to mark the milestone that the Alfa Romeo brand has achieved.
2015 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint – Exterior
The newest release from Alfa Romeo that is the 2015 Giulietta Sprint does not feature many updates to its look that were expected. Yet there is enough added to make the car look better and more sportier that before which was the original premise of Alfa Romeo. The greatest changes are actually added to the back of the vehicle. You will notice a new bumper at the back which has a diffuser like apron added to it and four fins which replaces the standard setup of the car. Also you may notice the massively oversized chrome exhaust pipes at the back which increase the sport look of the vehicle.
The front part is virtually the same as before. Yet there is one piece of equipment added that will distinguish these cars apart. The glossy anthracite finish of the front grille combined with the fog light frames is the sole change that the car has gone through in its front. The door handles and the mirror caps have gone through the same change while the tinted rear windows add for a much stealthier and a much more severe look of the Giulietta Sprint model. Added are the 17-inch alloy wheels that come as standard equipment, while there is an option of ordering 18-inh ones if you want your car to look a tad bit bigger.
Interior Sport Design
The inside also features a basic Giulietta desing, but the 2015 Sprint trim receives an updated which features a new trim color and some extra new features that the car did not have. The black sport trim is what essentially makes the car look better and sportier and gives it that dark and mysterious tone to the inside. The seats have been remodeled to provide comfort and include Alcantara fabric with red thread and a Sprint embroidery added to the headrest. The leather matted wheel has the same color specter while the side doors and the dashboard have a carbon-colored finish. The roof lining and the floor mats also use the same black color there as the entire interior of the car.
The car has also been fitted with updated modern technological features. For instance, the rear parking sensors, standard cruise control and Alfa’s new Uconnect multimedia system which come available with either a 5 or a 6.5-inch touchscreen comes available as standard equipment inside the car. This also comes enhanced with a satellite navigation system with 3D bird’s eye view maps and progressive route guidance.
The base Giulietta comes equipped with a gasoline and a diesel engine, and even comes available with a LPG unit. But the sprint gets an updated and a brand new engine fitted inside it. The 1.4-liter, four-cylinder, MultiAir unit rated at 150 horsepower is the option which will power the Alfa Rome Giulietta Sprint version and it promises to be a good choice. The capabilities of the engine will allow the car to sprint form 0 to 60 mph in 8.2 seconds and be able to archive a top speed of 210 km/h (130 mph). The fuel consumption is rated at 42 mpg.
There is also the second engine option which is the 1.4-liter, MultiAir engine that can develop 170 hp. It comes equipped with a TCT twin-clutch automatic system. But the fun does not stop there, as you may also opt for the 1.6-liter JTDM that generates 105 hp, the 2.0-liter JTDM engine with the capacity of reaching 150 to 170 hp, and finally a 1.4-liter LPG that outputs 120 horsepower.
